A percentage of light energy falling onto a solar module is converted into direct current(DC)electricity for use at the place of generation or an inverter can convert the DC electricity into alternating current(AC)and feed it back to the electricity grid. Solar PV should not be confused with solar thermal technology used to heat water for buildings or swimming pools.
